When I exported Path to Ashes from Scrivener, I accidentally left out the end of Chapter 17 — a scene that bridges Scarlet’s rescue and Malik’s quiet moment of concern. The error has now been fixed in all editions, but for those reading the first print or Kindle version, here’s the missing piece.
